due to high demand, shanghai disney resort parking lots will be at or near full capacity during the weekends and holidays. guests visiting shanghai disneyland and disneytown are advised to take the metro, taxi or other public transportation.
zootopia has officially opened at shanghai disneyland on december 20. as we continue to manage maximum capacity for each area of our resort, and in anticipation of high demand to visit zootopia during its opening period, please understand that admission to zootopia or its new attraction “zootopia: hot pursuit” may not be secured for every guest who enters shanghai disneyland. however, guests will be able to encounter multiple new experiences with a zootopia touch throughout the park, including decoration, entertainment, food & beverage and merchandise. please also note that overnight queuing for entry to shanghai disneyland on any day is not permitted. guests are encouraged to plan their trip accordingly.
in the opening phase, we expect that pauses and brief downtimes may occur from time to time in the new attraction “zootopia: hot pursuit”. downtimes may occur for a variety of reasons due to the complexity of the ride system and built-in safety features, based on industry requirements and best practices. in the event of downtime, guests will be required to evacuate according to onsite cast members' instructions. operation of the attraction will be resumed after the completion of all necessary procedures. we appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our guests during this opening period.

at shanghai disney resort, special pricing has been provided to many guests since opening, and starting on october 8, 2019, the resort will implement new definitions for special pricing in order to bring preferable benefits in relation to shanghai disneyland admission to more children.
starting on october 8, 2019, a discount of approximately 25% will be provided to all children aged 3 to 11 years old, both inclusive; or with a height above 1.0 meter and up to 1.4 meters, on the day of their visit to the park.
children under the age of 3 years old or with a height of 1.0 meter and below on the day of their visit will receive free park admission.
an “age” mentioned above is deemed to have been reached on the date corresponding to the date of birth. guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guest aged 16 years old or older to enter the park.
starting from september 9, 2019, guests will be able to purchase tickets for admission to shanghai disneyland on or after october 8, 2019 under the new child ticket criteria which will be in effect, through shanghai disney resort’s official channels.
in order to enjoy free admission or the ticket discount based on age (as set forth above), guardians must bring and present a valid original government id with a photo and the date of birth of the children (“id certificate”) that is acceptable to us on the day they intend to enter shanghai disneyland.
for mainland china guests, examples of acceptable id certificates are:
- prc resident id card
- prc social security card
- passport
for mainland china guests, examples of unacceptable id certificates are:
- hu kou bu (photos not available)
- certificate of birth (photos not available)
- student id (not a government issued id)
for other guests, the only acceptable id certificates are:
- for hong kong china and macao china guests: mainland travel permit for hong kong and macau residents, prc travel document or prc residence permit for hong kong, macao residents
- for taiwan china guests: mainland travel permit for taiwan residents, prc travel document or prc residence permit for taiwan residents
- for other guests: foreign passport or prc foreign permanent resident id card
also beginning october 8, 2019, guests aged 11 and under are able to enjoy the child benefits available at the resort’s two themed hotels – shanghai disneyland hotel and toy story hotel as well as kids’ meals at the resort’s restaurants.
the discount policy for senior guests and guests with disabilities remains unchanged. guests that do not meet the special pricing or free admission criteria (as set forth above) must purchase standard tickets to visit shanghai disneyland.
